The 5-Project Rule

1 rating

This book will help you:

  • Finish projects instead of starting 10 and completing none
  • Free up mental space by knowing exactly what deserves your attention
  • Kill the guilt of half-done projects collecting dust
  • Get more done by intentionally doing less

The Problem

We've been taught that busy equals productive. So we start side hustles, take online courses, learn languages, hit the gym, build apps, write books. All at once.

Then we wonder why nothing gets finished.

One day I counted my active projects. 14. Not ideas. Active projects I'd committed to. Side hustles. SaaS ideas. Courses I'd never finish. Websites I promised people.

I was always busy. Never productive.

Every new idea felt urgent. Every project felt important. But at the end of each month, I'd look back and realize: nothing actually shipped.

Sound familiar?

The Fix

I created a simple rule: no more than 5 active projects at any time.

Not 5 categories. Not 5 "areas of focus". Five actual projects.

Here's the thing most productivity advice misses: your gym routine is a project. That language you've been "learning" on Duolingo for three years is a project. Your relationship takes energy too. They all compete for the same limited bandwidth.

Everything beyond 5 goes on a waiting list. No guilt. No FOMO. Just clarity.

What's Inside

  1. The Process of Losing Focus - Why shiny object syndrome and decision fatigue keep you stuck
  2. The 5-Project Rule - How to identify your real projects and avoid burnout
  3. But What If I Want to Do More? - Delegation, routines, and my weekly work system

What You'll Learn

  • The exact framework I use to choose which 5 projects make the cut
  • How to shelve projects without abandoning them
  • A system for cycling projects in and out as you finish them
  • The mindset shift that makes "doing less" feel like freedom, not failure
